Alexander Boldachev presents Credo: Bach and Pärt – 250 Years of Sacred Sound
On October 31, 2025, the Teatar 78 in Belgrade will host an extraordinary evening of music: harp virtuoso Alexander Boldachev will present his new album Credo, released by the internationally renowned label PENTATONE.
With Credo, Boldachev offers visionary transcriptions for harp that bridge the spiritual sound worlds of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750) and Arvo Pärt (b. 1935). Despite the 250 years that separate them, both composers share a profound devotion to clarity, stillness, and transcendence — qualities which, through Boldachev's artistry, find a new voice in the harp. The program places Bach's measured maximalism side by side with Pärt's contemplative minimalism, creating a luminous dialogue across centuries.
The Belgrade concert will be a magical candlelit experience, immersing the audience in sound and light. This unique atmosphere reflects the essence of Credo itself, recorded earlier this year in the mountain chapel of Aiglon College, Switzerland.
For Boldachev, Belgrade is almost a second home. Over the past decade, he has appeared in the city more than ten times, performing recitals, orchestral concerts, and presenting projects such as his critically acclaimed album War and Peace. He has also been invited as a visiting professor at the Faculty of Music, University of Arts in Belgrade, sharing his knowledge and inspiring a new generation of Serbian harpists.
Now, with Credo, Alexander Boldachev returns to Belgrade with one of his most personal and spiritual projects. His concert is not only a celebration of two great composers but also of the harp's boundless expressive power — from whispering intimacy to radiant brilliance.
